How to help rare cacti thrive indoors
Rare cacti generally need more light and less water than most indoor plants. Their needs are simple, but the timing matters.
Start with the brightest light
Give your cactus the brightest position available and rotate the pot occasionally for balanced growth. When moving a plant into stronger sun, increase its exposure gradually so the skin has time to adjust.
Let the soil tell you when to water
Use a fast-draining mineral soil and water deeply only after the mix has dried throughout.
Check below the soil surface before watering.
Soak the full root ball, then let excess water drain.
Water less often during cool or low-light months.
